Krissy Atterholt was recently featured in the Isthmus article "Pot or Not Pot" by Esther Launstein, discussing the legality of hemp-based cannabis in Wisconsin.

The 2018 Agriculture Improvement Act distinguishes hemp from marijuana, the latter of which is federally illegal. However, ambiguities in the legal definitions have granted hemp businesses in Wisconsin flexibility in the type of products that can be legally sold. As a result, the legitimacy of these businesses come frequently into question.

Krissy states, “Without a medical or adult-use cannabis program and deafening silence on emerging cannabinoid products, Wisconsinites are crossing borders to shop at cannabis dispensaries but left wondering how there are cannabis products on the shelves back home.”
