Overview

For more than 20 years, Ken has protected the interests of professionals and their businesses in a variety of industries. He’s built his practice on the foundation that everyone deserves to be heard and with the understanding that a claim against any professional is a threat to their business and livelihood. To quote one of his recent clients, “No professional likes to be sued, but if it happens, you want lawyers like Ken and his team in your corner.”

As chair of the Professional Liability Service Group, Ken defends professionals across industries—including legal, architecture, engineering, insurance, accounting, real estate, and construction—against allegations of fraud, conspiracy, breach of fiduciary duty, and misrepresentation. He helps insurance professionals and third-party administrators resolve complex and varied disputes, from conspiracy allegations to accusations that a claimant or third party was denied benefits. Ken also represents estate planning professionals, such as lawyers and accountants, facing claims of wrongdoings by estate beneficiaries.

Ken’s significant malpractice defense experience includes claims stemming from contract disputes, personal injury, corporate and fiduciary responsibilities, real estate transactions, trust and estate planning, workers’ compensation, insurance coverage, intellectual property, litigation strategy, employment practices, immigration, tax issues, bankruptcy, and foreclosure. He has a track record for successfully advocating for his clients before courts, licensing boards, and state and federal agencies.

As a member of the firm’s Construction Service Group, Ken represents architects and engineers in personal injury and construction defect claims that occur during construction and/or after the design work is complete.

A talented litigator, Ken is often called upon to take over cases prior counsel could not resolve. He’s tried more than 10 cases and countless arbitrations to verdict, but many more disputes have been resolved favorably before reaching a courtroom.

In his free time, Ken is involved in his community. Having served as the president of his local soccer program for many years, he was elected to his local Park District Board of Commissioners in 2023. Ken is also an active scout leader and holds various leadership roles at his family’s church.
